Matt Barton is an assistant professor of English (Rhetoric and Applied Writing) at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota. He is the author of Dungeons & Desktops: The History of Computer Role-Playing Games (A.K. Peters Press), and co-author Vintage Games: An Insider’s Look at the History of Grand Theft Auto, Super Mario, and the Most Influential Games of All Time (Focal Press). He is also the co-editor of Wiki Writing: Collaborative Learning in the College Classroom (University of Michigan Press). Matt has published many articles and reviews on gaming and tech-related subjects on Gamasutra, Adventure Classic Gaming, and Armchair Arcade, a PC Magazine Top 100 Website that he co-founded with Bill Loguidice. He also hosts a weekly YouTube program called “Matt Chat,” in which he reviews classic games and interviews legends of the industry such as Ralph Baer and John Romero.
